A lecture like this is long overdue for anyone who performs on stage. Even if you always use an earset, headset or lav, at some point, you will be forced to use a handheld and you’ll want Michael’s tips and guidance.

I’ve always used a body mic and always experienced issues from time to time. Unless you have a professional sound tech riding the levels on a board while you perform, issues are inevitable. But for me it was always so cumbersome to use a handheld and when I had to, it showed. The show was clunky.

Watch a master use a handheld and it’s so smooth, you either won’t notice the mic or you’ll be in awe of how effortlessly they do it.

Yet for me, I didn’t know how to apply it.

Ken Weber offers great advice in Maximum Entertainment but I was waiting for practical instruction and when i saw this lecture back when Michael first released it a couple months ago, I jumped on it and it delivered.

Michael talks about why he uses one and how. He even offers magical methods using a handheld, which was more than I expected.

I was able to implement Michael’s techniques almost instantly.

Using a handheld seems trivial but it isn’t. Whether you’re going to use one exclusively or want the skills to use one when required, there’s nothing else like this lecture out there (I know, I’ve been searching for years).

Do yourself and your audience a favor and pick this up.

Thank you, Michael for thinking about teaching this and offering it to the industry. This is professional advice from a professional performer.

If you’re thinking about purchasing this product, don’t hesitate! Michael does a fantastic job running through everything you need to know on how to handle a hand held mic and how to make your performance look fluent and graceful and not awkward at all. I personally use either a lapel mic or a headset in my shows. However, if you know the proper handling of a hand held microphone, you can play any room or venue in the world. This is great, every magician and performer should obtain this knowledge.

So although I haven't bought this from penguin I did buy it from Michael directly before it was available on here. Now many people may be thinking why use a handheld when a headset or lavalier microphone gives you so much freedom. Well not only can I be used in main situations it also gets you thinking about stage movement, and how to present yourself better. Now I still use a headset in some shows but I have transitioned to using only a handheld mic in my my main comedy show. His teaching is great and he gives you pro tips throughout which is invaluable (and not only on microphones)

This lecture is a must for all professional performers because even if you still want to use a headset, you can always carry a wired handheld microphone with a lond xlr cable in your case just on the off chance you have to use it and keep the show going.

Stellar information. If you perform standing up in front of an audience, you need this lecture.
